Along with growing Character, Skills, and Faith, one of our "Mantras" at YSSC is Growing Relationships. This mantra is part of many decision made at camp and why we do much of what we do. We want to never stop answering the question: "Will this help grow strong and healthy relationships?".
A few years back, we started an event we called "Sidetracked" to answer that question once more even outside of the summer sessions. Despite the busyness of each season, and the many commitments our campers have throughout the school year, we were excited to find that campers wanted time with their YSSC friends and family, too! And thus, we began setting aside times and places to get "Sidetracked" from the daily grind just long enough to re-live a bit of camp magic and fun together.
On February 4th of this year, with Superbowl parties drawing ever near we gathered a group of over 100 campers, staff, and friends for a day of fun at one of the happiest places on earth, second only to YSSC: Disneyland!
We spent a fantastic afternoon and evening playing games like "Find the Princess", "Would You Rather", and more. We rode rides and re-lived camp memories. We played hard and live large, snagging souvenirs, enjoying Disney Cuisine, and mostly spent great time with our own "Brothers, Sista's, and Friends".
Thanks to all who made Disneyland Sidetracked such a special day!
